Lucky Ranch Learning Lab

My name is Reilly and I founded my first mushroom company in 2023. My life has been profoundly changed by mushrooms and I have dedicated my time to teaching others about the wonderful world of mycology. My relationship with psychedelic mushrooms began 16 years ago and I started foraging in 2020. In 2023 I realized there was a need for foraging education in my community, and opened Lucky Ranch Foraging Company. I shared the Lucky Ranch with hundreds of curious mycofiles through different classes and by hosting world experts.

My greatest strength is my ability to build community through activism. On 2/25/24, my mission in life was realized, when I gifted amanita and psilocybin containing mushrooms, under Prop 122, for the first time. Answering the call to grant free access to mushrooms, in the only place I am legally allowed to gift them, lit a fire in me that can never be extinguished. Since that day, I have organized and hosted more than 15 different Gifting Events around the state of Colorado. With the help of countless volunteers, and mushroom donors, I have been able to give over 1,000 people, free mushrooms. Along the way I began asking people to bring clothing, in exchange for a gift of mushrooms. I am proud to say that I have given over 1,000 articles of clothing, directly to people who needed them, as a result of the donations we receive from events. On 12/8/24 I held a coat drive in Denver and we clothed the entire Salvation Army Men’s Shelter on Champa. That day we also gathered 326 items that were distributed through out the Denver Salvation Army Shelters and to local Rehabilitation and Recovery programs. We hope to do it again this Winter. My mission is founded deeply in understanding the need for access to mushrooms. In Colorado you can legally access mushrooms through Licensed Healing Centers or gifting. It currently costs $3,500 to participate in one journey in a Licensed Healing Center. This is not financially attainable for me and I personally understand how it feels to suffer and search for magic relief. That is why I use my time and resources to grant people over the age of 21, access to free mushrooms. I know what it is like to suffer from suicidal ideation, traumatic brain injury, Lyme disease, and general malaise/ lack of zest for life. I also know that mushrooms in themselves may not be a cure for all things, but they are an incredibly useful tool in combating many challenges. Mushrooms have taught me how to access new levels of wellness and prosperity, while finding relief from previously inhibiting symptoms. Learning how to incorporate mushrooms into your routine takes more than one session, and I don’t believe learning a new tool should live behind a $3,500 pay wall.

Lucky Ranch Learning Lab was founded on the work and principles I previously described. In June of 2024, it was physically constructed by a group of volunteers. The lab was created to hold workshops that teach people how to grow and use mushrooms. It also serves as a safe space to work with mushrooms and discuss psychedelic experiences. Through the events and workshops I hold, I encourage activism and self reliance, as I teach people how to grow and use their own medicine. My events create opportunities for people to form new relationships and celebrate all that is possible under Prop 122.
