This is a laid back event, that’s meant to give you access to mushrooms and experienced psychonauts/ growers in the community. Location: Metaphorse in Montrose, CO
When: arrive when you’re ready on 8/8 and leave when you’re ready 8/9
Things to note:
Only tent camping and car camping spots are left
you may extend your stay by camping the night/s before and after 8/8 for $25/ night.
No children or dogs are allowed on this experience.

To hold the safest container possible and allow everyone peace of mind: once you arrive, you will not be able to leave the ranch. You will be asked to sign and expected to uphold a sober contract while you are at the camp out. This includes checking in sober, and refraining from using alcohol or other substances during your stay. You will be allowed to smoke cannabis in a designated area or your tent/ car during the entire camp out. Please be respectful! This is sacred medicine and to enjoy it fully, you must not be on alcohol or mixing other recreational substances.
If there is fire or weather danger of any kind, I will cancel 8/6 and refund everyone. Sometimes how the fire danger appears on social media and what it is actually like in the area, are not always aligned. We work closely with the local ranch and community to stay up to date on what’s happening.
There are hotels and places to stay in Montrose, by the airport (if you fly in). There’s also places I recommend in Ouray. If you want help planning around the camp out, shoot me an email or book a discovery call and I will help you plan!
What to expect:
Arrive and set up camp on 8/8. Socks ‘n Shrooms is from 10-11:30. Feel free to come for that too!
I have rented the guest house on site for meal prep and storage. You will have access to a normal bathroom with a shower and an additional toilet. If you choose to take a shower, please remember there are other people using the bathroom and be mindful. Bring what you need to shower or cook. Anything provided in the guest kitchen is a nice surprise, beyond pots and pans and cooking utensils. If you need something, please ask and we will confirm it’s there, before you buy a ticket. Please plan a simple meal. Prepared meals are recommended to allow full time for all activities on this short camp out. There is a community Tipi for shade and you can lounge in the guest house if you get warm in your tent during the day.
2 PM equine and foraging opportunity- meet the horses and join experienced practitioners for a relaxing exercise with equines. I will also identify any edible plants or mushrooms on the property as we take a light stroll.
4 PM Mushroom Grow Class- Vital Bloom Tinctures will teach you the basics of how to grow mushrooms! Take home a bag in a strain you choose from his library and a worksheet that helps you continue your journey at home!
6:30 PM Safe Use Chat and Gift Selection- I will discuss with you how to form a safe and individualized relationship with mushrooms. There will be plenty of time for QnA and you will get a hand out with some basic guidelines to use and understanding dosages/ potency testing. Then I will go over the different gifts I have to choose from and you can pick one to enjoy under the stars or use later.
8 PM Open Sacred Star Gazing Space- I will open the container and invite you to enjoy your gift. You will “come up” during an incredible sunset and drift with nature as the night sky transitions to a light show!
8/9- Touch Base and Take Off
9 AM Psychedelic Share Circle- this is space to share your experience over a morning beverage and ask questions. Tinctures will be provided by Vital Bloom Tinctures, along with locally foraged tea and coffee. All of this is optional, but we would love to use this time to help connect you to resources in your community/online that can support you along your continued journey.

How Learning Lab Has Evolved
Learning Lab is a community model and previously was a physical classroom for mycology cultivation and safe use education in Evergreen, CO. Founded by Reilly Steidle in 2024, this project has taught 3,000+ people how to use mushrooms, 300+ how to grow them, and clothed over 2,500 through clothing drives that gift participants mushrooms. Thousands of microdoses were made in the classroom and at events, that were then gifted for free at protests and other community gatherings. I refer to myself as a “Hope Dealer”. The Natural Medicine Act brings me great hope, and it is an honor to share the mushrooms I grow with you.
Over the past 2 years, I have learned quite a bit from the people I have gifted mushrooms to. They have shared their experiences with me and through potency testing, I have been able to learn a lot about what different people are experiencing, to make different recommendations. about how to help people achieve what they are looking for when coming to mushrooms. I am not a guide. My skillset is not most useful in that portion of your journey. I believe in personal use and access. It’s $3500 to sit for one psychedelic journey in a licensed healing center in CO. For $150, I will consult with you for an hour on any contraindications you have to using mushrooms, what may personally impact the dosage you need to get the results you are seeking, what you can expect when you take different strains or dosages, what frequency to use them with and how to integrate what is happening along your personal psychedelic journey. I believe the mushrooms are tools and I provide you with enough to meet the goals we discussed for 1-2 months. There is an intuitive component to eating mushrooms, which can be hard to discern if you have only used western medicine protocols. Mushrooms are not one size fits all. There is not one hand out that provides harm reduction for all mushrooms. Mushrooms can feel vastly different given their alkaloid profiles. My goal is to guide you on your journey to learning how you like to use mushrooms safely.
